Hi, I’m Devon.
I’m a digital marketer, content creator, and M.S. in Marketing student with a concentration in Social Media Marketing. My background sits at the intersection of strategy and creativity, which means I’m just as interested in why content works as I am in making it look good.
I’ve spent years creating content, working with brands, building digital experiences, and seeing social media from both sides of the screen: as a consumer and as a marketer. That experience has made me especially interested in the psychology behind digital influence. Why do we trust one recommendation and scroll past another? What makes people participate in a brand community? Why can a 20-second creator video influence a purchase more effectively than a perfectly produced advertisement?
That curiosity is what inspired The Art of Digital Influence.
What You’ll Find Here
This blog explores social media marketing beyond likes, followers, and whatever the algorithm decided to do today.
I break down real brands, campaigns, platforms, consumer behavior, and emerging social strategies to look at what actually creates connection and influence online. Throughout the blog, I explore topics including user-generated content, brand communities, digital customer experiences, social commerce, influencer marketing, and the constantly changing relationship between brands and consumers.
Some posts begin with case studies from my graduate coursework, but the goal is bigger than completing an assignment. I want to connect marketing theory with what is actually happening on our feeds every day.
Because great social media marketing is not about being everywhere or being the loudest brand in the room.
It’s about understanding people well enough to give them a reason to care.
Let’s Connect
I’m always interested in connecting with other marketers, creators, strategists, and people who are just as curious about where digital marketing is headed next.
Follow along as I explore the strategy, psychology, and creativity behind digital influence.
